Interested in Joining the ‘Cats?
The University of Cincinnati Bearcats hockey team is one of the fastest growing ACHA organizations in the midwest. In the 2008-2009 season the Bearcats had a record setting season of 20 wins and 5 losses in ACHA DIII. The Bearcats completed their first season in Division II hockey playing teams like Miami(OH), Ohio State University, University of Kentucky, University of West Virginia, Indiana University, University of Illinois, and University of Toledo to name a few, going 12-11-3 in the 2009-2010 campaign. Everyday we practice, we take the ice with a former NHL All Star Blaine Stoughton to become better hockey players and men.
The Bearcats intend to continue climbing the ranks of the ACHA and, within ten years become a NCAA program. The Bearcats are looking for strong, skilled and smart players so if you think this describes you contact us at UCBearcatHockey@gmail.com and put your name, age, year at the school, position, perferred contact information and a resume of past teams and accomplishments. ACHA teams are self-funded with most teams getting at least some funding support from their schools.
All of our home games are called on either UStream or Bearcast Radio. We also make appearances on the Bearcast show The Five Minute Major, UC’s all talk hockey show. You can go on and listen to a few of our games and our radio appearances. That could be YOU! Remember, while hockey is extremely important, we are “student athletes” first, so please be aware you do have to maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average, and may be subject to other academic requirements.
